The Big Splash

Yesterday, the whole of Oaklands School travelled to Jellie Park on the bus. We had lots of fun swimming and playing games. We went there because we are learning to be a great community.

Multicultural Day

We had a great time today learning about different cultures. We learnt how to write our names in Japanese, how to sing in French and play "boules" and how to say thank-you for our croissant.

Our shared lunch was yummy :)

The Dot - we are working collaboratively to achieve a goal

Today we watched this video and created own own half 'dot'. We talked about being special and unique and trying our hardest.  Then we joined our half dot with our talking partner to create a whole dot.



We are also learning to use the 'effort meter' to show self awareness in our learning.

Yay! We are Year 3's now so we are allowed to play on the middle playground at morning tea and lunchtime.

Welcome Back to School

These next two weeks we are learning about our class procedures, learning about our learning and about our school.

We will be working closely with Room 2 this year so we have been getting to know them by playing some fun cooperative games.
